The buck was discovered in the ditch of 21st and Hwy 24 in Colorado Springs on my way to work. I did an initial drive by to survey the situation. I circled back and blocked the deer from view with my truck because it was a busy road. I grabbed the knife from my glovebox and quickly did a 360 neck cut + a full twist in a record 30 seconds. His head rested in my truck bed until I could get home to do a cleaning.

• Placed into freezer
October – December 2019:
• Specimens thawed and exterior removed (smell was overwhelming due to state of decomposition)
• Specimens put into bugs
• Put into water/soap to clean off excess
• Specimens put into hydrogen peroxide for more flesh removal
• Hand cleaning with tweezers/scissors
• Specimens rinsed for final cleaning
